About Us

It all started with Chris Moneymaker's widely televised Cinderella-story World Series of Poker win. Like many others we found ourselves fascinated with the no-limit tournament format. Soon we had all the gear -- 11.5g dice chips, cards, folding felt table tops, an oven timer, and a post-it with a blind schedule we found on the Internet -- and tournaments de la casa were becoming regular events.

Our guests loved the events. For us it was work. The whole tournament setup and ongoing management process was a real headache. Blind schedules seemed to change from event to event based on input from whoever showed up first and figuring out how to divide up the chips became a ritualistic battle with Microsoft Excel. Tournmament play was peppered with blind and time-left questions and periodic real-time blind schedule and clock "tuning".

For the two of us that were running these tournaments our casual conversations became more and more about the "ultimate tournament clock" that would take care of all the details of setting up and running a tournament in a very simple way. In mid 2004 we created our first design and filed our patents and by August we had a prototype. The Poker Genie was born!

We produced our first lot of Genies, put up a website, posted a few messages on the web, and before we knew it we were out of stock! Apparently we weren't the only ones with this problem!

Two years later we were selling the third generation of the Poker Genie, had transitioned to a high volume manufacturer overseas (we even had our own barcode now!), and were distributing Poker Genies all over the world.

Today we are proud to have Trademark Poker, Inc., the largest poker products distributor in North America, as our exclusive distributor.

The Poker Genie continues to be a hit and we get the most satisfaction of all knowing we are allowing others to have the positive, painless tournament experience we intended.
